Wish you could have access to editing keyboard shortcuts, file size calculators, tutorials and more in the palm of your hand? Introducing FinalCutProX.net‘s iPhone application.
All you need to do is visit FCPX.info on your iOS device and upgrade to “pro” for $2 USD and you will have access to all their tutorials, shortcuts, calculators, blog, store, help center and more! FCPX.info features keyboard shortcuts for both legacy Final Cut Pro as well as Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5. You can even save shortcuts as favorites for easy access. This can be very handy to have shortcuts right at your finger tips as oppose to a PDF somewhere on your computer.
Not sure if you have enough hard drive space for your video files? FCPX.info contains a calculator to tell you exactly how much space you need. Choose the type of codec, frame rate, video length and presto! Plus, there’s also a DVD bit-rate calculator to see if your deliverable will fit on a disc.
Not sure how to do something in Final Cut Studio? FCPX.info has tons of tutorials for free for Final Cut Pro (legacy), Soundtrack Pro, Color, Motion, Shake, Compressor, and DVD Studio Pro. It looks like they’re actually the Apple training videos for FCP 6, Soundtrack 2, Motion 3, etc (not the latest version of Final Cut Studio).
Overall I was pretty impressed with this app. Especially since the FinalCutProX.net team is offering it for only $2 USD! The interface is clean and easy to use. I love that you can save favorite shortcuts; great idea! Plus, you can save the webapp on your homescreen for easy access. It does require a Facebook account connection, so keep that in mind. Here is their reasoning for using a Facebook connection:
“Currently over 800 million users have a facebook profile. Connection though the FCPX.info iPhone web app is made securely through facebook. Security is very important to us. We never see your facebook password and the facebook connection method prevents new users from having to create yet another account to access web services. When you connect through facebook you will notice that the URL in mobile safari is facebook.com and connection is sent through secure socket layer using 256 bit encryption, which is a fb API requirement for application development. You only have to connect with facebook once on your iOS device to have access to pro features and connection to the web app also connects you to our facebook application located at https://apps.facebook.com/
finalcutprox that offers additional benefits for desktop users.”
For more information and to check out the app, just visit FCPX.info on your iOS device. And you can upgrade at any time for two dollar to get access to free tutorials, keyboard shortcuts, and more!
Until the end of March 2012, you can use the code “ios” for 50% off, so for $1.
